FRIDAY, AUGUST 8TH, 2008  11.30 by local time , after the height aclimatisation  our team climbed down to Terskol for a short relaxation, recovery from the heights and preparation for the final rise to the peak Elbrus which is going to take place in the next few days.

As we have informed you through MT:S Mobile Telephony of Serbia , our team went to the base camp in Garabashi where they have been staying in te last 5 days. During that period they had 2 aclimatisations over 4500msl and one to the height camp Pruit 11.

You can see the photos of the base camp here:

From the very arriving of theirs bad weather has been following them so that they had the first aclimatisation to the top of the rock Pashtuchova in the rain, snow and strong winds. On that day it was wiseless to carry any of the cmeras as it was very cloudy.

As we informed you earlier , at the return from that aclimatisation at about 20.00 in the evening , trying to cross the ridge , about 20 meters away from the camp , the icy ridge broke under Slobodan's feet , and he fell into icy water as high as his waist. Fortunately the container with the Russian GSS is near so Slobodan went there immediately to leave his shoes and part of his clothes to dry.

They spent the next day in Garabashi for the things were drying still.

Yesterday our team did another aclimatisation to the rock Pastuchova, but this time only to the foot of the rock at 4540msl of height, and returned safely to the base camp. Yesterday was also the first clear day but the wind was too strong for us to try the rise to the peak.

You can see yesterday's photos here:

The photos that you could see were taken in the base camp garabashi just before the start of the aclimatisation.

The next photos that you are going to se were taken during the rise to the rock Pastuchova at 4540msl of height.

That is what the yesterday's aclimatisation rise looked like. After the aclimatisation the team returned to the camp and had rest, and rests at the camp looked like this:

On the days to come the rise to Elbrus is expecting them , and this may happen tonight, tomorrow night or the night on the day after tomorrow. The only thing that they need is good weather and we hope that Elbrus will be won in the days that follow.
