January 15th, 2009--- A press conference was held in the international Tanjug press centre where the start of the expedition "Lazar's Teas - Daniela Jovanovic" were announced. At the press confernce Mr Vladimir Pesic , deputy minieter of work and social policy department for the protection of invalid persons, Mr Vladimir Djukic secretary for children's protection of Belgrade city , Danijela Jovanovic and Slobodan Stokic spoke.
The realization of the highlands expedition " Lazar's Teas - Daniela Jovanovic" will start on January 23rd, when Daniela together with her trainer Slobodan will try to conquer the highest top of South America - Aconqagua (6,962msl) If Daniela succeeds in her trial she will be the first invalid woman who has done that.
-I trust myself and I am ready for the expedition to Acoqagua - said Daniela at the conference where official announcement of the expedition to the Andes took place.
Daniela Jovanovic is a woman with a heavy form of invalidity that is lack of both hands and both feet. In August 2008 she conquered the highest top of Europe , Elbrus . She was the first unvalid woman to do that , too.
In the last six moths Daniela had strenuous preparations for the expedition to Acoqagua (6,962 msl). The top which is very hard for clmibing and the climb itself takes about 21 days.
-The period of preparations for the highlands expedition " Lazar's Teas - Daniela Jovanovic" was very hard both training, which had to be done in wintertime and finding financial means for the realisation of the expedition. Yet , we succeeded to solve all the problems and troubles we had on our way and we are ready for the conquering of the highest peak of South Amerika - says Slobodan Stokic, the president of the Club for Extreme Sports - 'Pozitiv'.
The expedition is devoted to all the persons with invalidity and it shows that such persons can be intergrated in the society.
-By conquering the Aconqagua peak a clear message is sent to the Serbian and world's publicity that invalid persons in Sebia are ready to be integrated , but it will also show that the society itself is ready to accept such persons as its equal members- said Mr Valadan Djukic, city's secretary for social and children's protection.
