January 27th, 2008 - After the end of our shopping we took the advantage of this occasion to take a walk along the streets of Mendoza and we experienced a real local flood.

The morning dawned clear and pleasant with the temperature of 22 degrees C . We went on buying the complete equipment needed for the climbing. During the morning raindrops were falling all the time. One hour later we finished our shopping and when we were going to our hotel it started raining cats and dogs and the streams of water flooded all the streets of Mendoza in five minutes.

The flood that we took photo of from a coffee bar, in which we took shelter, looked like this:

We couldn’t believe what we saw when we got out. Until the evening one more checking of our equipment is before us. Tomorrow we are going to get the permission for the climbing to Aconqagua and on 29th our EAP (Extra Acclimatization Program) starts. The aim is to make Daniela acclimatize shortly before the climb itself, i.e. to try to climb to the peak Vallecitos 5500 msl high or as the best result to climb Plata Peak 6300 msl high. Everything depends on Daniela’s acclimatization .
