ITINERARY

  1. day: Arrival to Beijing, change flight to Kashgar. Arrival in Kashgar, accomodation in hotel, overnight.
  2. day: Day for rest in Kashgar.
  3. day: Day for rest and expedition preparation in Kashgar.
  4. day: Transfer from Kashgar to Karakul lake, then easy trekking to nomad settlement Subashi on 3400m. Accommodation and overnight in Yurt.
  5. day: Ascent to Base camp on 4450m. Overnight in camp.
  6. day: Acclimatization walk around BC area. Overnight in tents.
  7. day: Ascent from BC to C1 on 5200m, set up the tents. Overnight in C1.
  8. day: Descent from C1 to BC. Overnight in tents.
  9. day: Day for rest in BC. Overnight in tents.
  10. day: Ascent from BC to C1. Overnight in tents.
  11. day: Ascent from C1 to C2 on 6200m. Overnight in tents.
  12. day: Descent from C2 to BC. Overnight in tents.
  13. day: Day for rest in BC.

PRICE NOT INCLUDED:

  5. personal clothing and equipment (sleeping bag, boots, ice axe, etc.), 
  6. personal climbing oxygen,
  7. vaccinations (please consult with your doctor),
  8. health, travel and rescue insurance and comprehensive insurance, 
  9. personal snack-energy food (power-bars, chocolate bars, best brought from your home)
  10. upper camp food, gratuities (tips),
  11. expenses of a personal nature, and personal changes to the pre-planned itinerary. Not included are unexpected expenses, such as those due to emergencies, accidents, rescues, weather, itinerary changes, political situations, crime, transport delays, etc.

  2. Extra days in BC (26€ day) days which are not included in the climbing itinerary
  3. Personal porters (from BC to C1 = 3$/kg, from C1 to C2 = 10$/kg, from C2 to C3 = 20-30$/1kg)

NOTE:

  1. The ascent on Muztagh Ata is very demanding, and climbers must be in excellent fitness.
  2. Obligations of any extra charges incurred due to unforeseen circumstances during the expedition up to 5% of the total cost assumes ESC Pozitiv, as well as any payment for situations that are prourokovane by ESC Pozitiv. All the extra charges, which are not caused by ESC Pozitiv, but the result of individual behavior, the burden falls on the group.
  3. Latest date for applications is 2nd Jun 2010 with the mandatory deposit of 850euro in advance.
  4. Requested all interested to apply until the deadline below, due keeping the best prices for airline tickets.
  5. If someone abandone the participation in the expedition , paid deposit in advance is NON REFUNDABLE, but need to find a replacement for a reserved place.
  6. In the case of cancelation of expedition, ESC Positive is obliged to return to client paid deposit, less for any costs that were incurred during the organization with the obligation to contribute documentation to the client by which the cost was made.
  7. The rest of the money it is possible to pay in two installments, or in total amount not later than 10 days before the time of departure on expedition.

  9. Basic knowledge of handling with mountaineering equipment for winter conditions (showshoes, ice axe, crampons...) is mandatory.

MUZTAGH ATA 7562mnv INFO

Muztag Ata (Father of the ice mountains in the translation) is located in China, in Xinjiang Autonomous Region (38 ° 16'42 "N, 75 ° 06'57" E) and the second highest peak of the peaks that are located on the northeastern edge of the Tibetan plateau (not the second highest on the Tibetan plateau). Belongs to Kunlun Shan Mountains massif, although it is physically closer to the Pamir massif. This top has a reputation as the easiest 7000mnv over the top, because the western slopes of mild and relatively dry climate which is characteristic of the region of Xinjiang.

Muztag Ata is located south of the peak Kongur Tagh, the highest peak of Kunlun Mountains Shan massif. Together, the two peaks forming isolated entity that is separate from the main wreath Kunlun Mountains, but also separate from the Pamir massif to the west. Sometimes both the top called "Chinese Pamir. Not far from these peaks to the north and east are plain Tarım Basin and the Taklamakan desert. Karakoram Highway passes near both the top and in the vicinity of the Karakul lake from which to see both the mountain.
